Some Of Our Favourite Ikat Designs
Ikat is a traditional Indian dying technique where threads for weaving are dyed and bound in a pattern on the fabric so that the threads covered by the binding “resist” the dye, creating a pattern.
This process is repeated, creating complex patterns which often result in its trademark slightly blurred appearance. The process is used throughout India and has been copied by homewares companies and designers across the world.
While these copies are usually not made by traditional Indian Ikat techniques we still love the way they look and are a great way to add patterns and colours to your home.
